The Rotunda Maternity Hospital in Dublin has begun screening women who were recent patients for tuberculosis. Two clinics have been set up to screen mothers after a woman was diagnosed as having TB a short time after giving birth. The woman went home, but returned a couple of weeks later with a severe temperature, and was later diagnosed. Around 30 members of the public who shared wards with the woman on both occasions have been called back to the hospital for screening. Staff at the hospital are also being screened.
