South Korean President receives Nobel Peace Prize

The South Korean President has received the Nobel Peace Prize, to mark his work towards reconciliation with North Korea after half a century of Cold War hostilities.

The South Korean President has received the Nobel Peace Prize, to mark his work towards reconciliation with North Korea after half a century of Cold War hostilities. Speaking at the award ceremony in the Norwegian city of Oslo, Kim Dae-Jung said that the honour of the prize should be shared by those who worked for South Korean democracy and reconciliation with the North. He also used his acceptance speech to set out his vision for developments on the Korean peninsula, and democracy and human rights.
