The father of 22-year-old Rachel Kiely, murdered near her home at Ballincollig, County Cork, almost a fortnight ago, has called on the public to help find her killer. John Kiely said that someone must know who killed his daughter. He said Rachel's death has left his family numbed by a continuing sense of shock.

Rachel Kiely was the second eldest of five children, the close-knit family of John and Rose Kiely. Her tragic death last Thursday week has left a void in their lives which they say will never be filled. John Kiely believes someone must know who killed his daughter; he's appealing to people to help the Garda investigation.

The investigation into her death has been extensive with a team of 50 detectives and uniformed Gardaí speaking to over 500 people and taking more than a hundred statements. Around half a dozen men have also given blood samples. But, while significant progress has been made, Gardaí are still hoping tonight's appeal will generate further vital information which will lead to the apprehension of Rachel Kiely's killer.
