A complex operation to separate the Siamese twins, Jodie and Mary, has begun at Saint Mary's hospital in Manchester. The surgery, which is expected to last 15 hours, will mean the death of the weaker twin, Mary. The Court of Appeal in London ruled that the operation could go ahead despite the objections of the twin's parents.
