Paula Yates, Inquest adjourned until November 8
The inquest into the death of TV presenter, Paula Yates, has been opened and adjourned in London. 40-year-old Ms Yates, the former wife of Bob Geldof, died at her home last Sunday. This morning at a brief hearing at Westminster Coroner's Court, a coroner's assistant gave details of the identification of Ms Yates' body.
The coroner, Dr Paul Knapman, questioned why the media had reported that the results of post-mortem tests on Ms Yates had been inconclusive. He said that he would prefer to say that the cause of death awaited further tests. Dr Knapman has adjourned the inquest until 8 November. Paula Yates' friend, Belinda Brewin, and her legal advisor, Anthony Burton, were present at this morning's hearing. Outside the court, Mr Burton appealed for the family to be left in peace.
