Nine survivors found following Cuban plane hijack

An American freighter has recovered nine survivors and one dead body in the area of the Gulf of Mexico, where a Cuban plane came down in the sea yesterday.

An American freighter has recovered nine survivors and one dead body in the area of the Gulf of Mexico, where a Cuban plane came down in the sea yesterday. The US coastguard says that one of the survivors is in a serious condition. A helicopter has been dispatched to take the man to hospital. It is not yet clear if the plane was hijacked or if the ten people on board, four men, three women and three children, were trying to defect.
