Air investigators say that they may have traced the debris material on the runway that caused the Air France Concorde crash. Officials say that a strip of metal, linked to the tyre blowout that triggered the crash, seems identical to one missing from a Continental Airlines DC-10 jet, which had taken off a few minutes earlier.

113 people died in the crash on 25 July. In a statement from its headquarters in Houston, Texas, Continental Airlines said that the strip could have come from its plane and it was co-operating fully with the investigation.
