The death toll from Tuesday's Concorde disaster has risen to 114. Another body was found in the debris of the hotel which was destroyed when the plane came down. It is not yet clear if the victim was a passenger on the plane.

French air accident investigators have said that the fire seen coming from the rear of the Concorde during and after take-off appears to have started outside the engines. They are speculating that as many as two of the aircraft's tyres may have burst before take off. They say this has yet to be confirmed, but their finding is based on tyre debris found on the runway. It had already been established that one engine failed, while another twice lost power. Air France has denied reports that extensive work was carried out on the left hand engines hours before the plane took off.

Meanwhile, Air France has indefinitely suspended its Concorde flights, following the crash. Air France will also pay preliminary compensation payments to the families of the 113 people who were killed in the disaster. The airline's five remaining Concordes will remain grounded, at least until the outcome of the current investigation into the cause of the accident. The world's only other operator, British Airways, has said its Concorde flights will continue.
