IBM announces multi-million pound investment
The computer giant, IBM, is to invest one hundred million pounds in projects that will see the location here of a number of important e-business initiatives. The Tanaiste, Mary Harney, said the investment will lead to 150 new jobs in the short term and to future growth in the workforce at the Mulhuddart site from two to three thousand people. It is also reported that the world's wealthiest company, Cisco Computer Systems, has plans that should bring 3,000 jobs to the Dublin area. Cisco Systems is the dominant force in the Internet equipment industry.
