At least five people have been wounded in a shootout in Fiji between the military and rebels outside the parliament building where the deposed Prime Minister and 26 other politicians have been held hostage for the past six weeks.

At least five people have been wounded in a shootout in Fiji between the military and rebels outside the parliament building where the deposed Prime Minister and 26 other politicians have been held hostage for the past six weeks. There are also reports that soldiers loyal to coup leader, George Speight, have staged a mutiny on Fiji's second island, Vanua Levu. The attack comes as the military authorities swore in a new civilian administration.
