Bloody Sunday Inquiry adjourns until autumn

The Saville Inquiry into the events of Bloody Sunday has adjourned for the summer and will resume its deliberations on September 4.

The Saville Inquiry into the events of Bloody Sunday has adjourned for the summer and will resume its deliberations on September 4. The inquiry has been sitting for 42 days. Most of this time has been taken up with the opening submission by Christopher Clarke QC in which he has outlined the mass of evidence gathered so far about events on January 30 1972 which resulted in the deaths of 14 people. The submission lasting an estimated 176 hours is the longest in the United Kingdom's legal history.
