Four women were released
As negotiations continue in the Fiji hostage crisis, four women have been released. The rebels holding the hostages said there will be no more releases until their demands are met. The rebels said the release of the women was a gesture of goodwill. However, the talks failed to reach agreement last night and rebel leader George Speight couldn't say when negotiations would resume. The rebels have demanded that Indians be disenfranchised and political power reserved for indigenous Fijians.
