Fijian rebels and military leaders are reported to have reached an agreement to end the South Pacific nation's month-long political crisis.

Fijian rebels and military leaders are reported to have reached an agreement to end the South Pacific nation's month-long political crisis. A private secretary to the former president, Sir Ratu Kamisese Mara, said that the new agreement would pave the way for the release of the Prime Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry, and 30 other hostages. Rebels have been holding them in the country's parliament since May 19.
