DeValera to meet RTÉ authority
Thursday, 2 March 2000 20:03The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Sile de Valera, is to meet the RTE authority tomorrow for talks on her reported plans to significantly amend the Broadcasting Bill. According to the reports, the Minister is proposing that RTÉ's transmission network should be sold off preparatory to the introduction of digital broadcasting here. But under the Bill currently before a Dáil committee, RTÉ would have a 40 per cent stake in a new company which would operate the transmission system.
