Taoiseach rejects criticism of economy

The Taoiseach has said economists should stop trying to find fault when the economy has never been healthier.

Mr Ahern was responding to criticism from the Central Bank and others, who claim that the budget will lead to inflationary pressures and reduce our competitiveness. Fine Gael leader, John Bruton, warned that the budget was flawed and inflation was out of government control as a result.
