A landslide has destroyed part of a multi-million pound golf course in Killarney in County Kerry. Several tonnes of earth spilled from a hillside at Aghadoe overlooking the Lakes of Killarney onto the newly opened Lakabane Golf Course. The course is owned by the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, which has previously hosted the Irish Open Golf Championship. The course where the tournament took place was not effected. Sources at the golf club say it may take up to two years to repair the damage. Two fairways and one of the greens have been destroyed.
