Two young Irish women have been killed in a road accident in a Kenyan National park. The two, who were engineering students at University College Dublin, died yesterday morning when their rented jeep overturned.

They were among a party of eight UCD and Trinity students on safari in Tsavo National Park, about 4 hours drive east of the capital Nairobi.

The dead women are understood to have been standing up watching wildlife when the accident occurred around 11 am local time. Another male engineering student is currently in hospital in Nairobi where he is being treated for minor hand injuries. The bodies of the dead women are being taken back to Nairobi today and are expected to be flown back to Dublin tomorrow.
