A woman in her twenties has been killed in a fire at a furniture factory in Oldcastle, County Meath. It is not yet known what caused the fire, which broke out shortly after two o'clock this afternoon.

Gardaí said that following evacuation of the factory, one woman was reported missing. Firefighters later recovered her body in a section of the burnt-out building.

It is understood that the fire was discovered shortly before 3pm. Up to five units attempted to contain the blaze, which was described by Gardaí as "extensive".
