Western military leaders in Kosovo have begun a fresh round of talks with ethnic Albanians to try to persuade them to lift their blockade of the southwestern town of Orahovac and accept Russian peacekeepers. The Albanians have spent a third day at roadblocks set up at all entry points into the town to prevent Russians taking over from Dutch troops. Albanians in Orahovac say Russian mercenaries fought alongside Serbs who massacred members of their community. They have also expressed fears that Russian troops could let war crimes suspects in the town's Serb enclave slip away to safety.
