Scotland Yard detectives investigating the murder of the television presenter Jill Dando say that they have received dozens of calls in response to the electronically-generated image of the prime suspect that was released yesterday. He was seen at a bus stop near Ms. Dando's home at Fulham in Southwest London shortly after she was shot on Monday.

Scotland Yard also said that new witness evidence indicated the gunman might have had an accomplice. The man leading the hunt, Detective Chief Inspector Hamish Campbell, said that the possibility was one of the areas they were looking at as a result of new information from eye-witnesses. He played down a possible Serb threat, saying there was no intelligence that pointed to a retaliatory killing following the NATO bombing of state-run Serb television.
