The aftermath of the 1974 Dublin bombing
The Gardaí are understood to be investigating claims by a former RUC man in relation to the Dublin bombing in 1974. RTÉ's Security Correspondent reports that sources have confirmed that the Garda special branch began an investigation after a document outlining the claims was given to the force.
Last month, a Sunday newspaper carried a two-page article in which the RUC man alleged that the bombings had been carried out in collusion with members of the RUC, the British Army and the UDR. The former RUC man alleged there was little effort by the RUC to hunt the killers.
