Several people have been injured in a car bomb blast outside a restaurant in Brick Lane, east London.

Several people have been injured in a car bomb blast outside a restaurant in Brick Lane, east London. Police said the blast caused severe damage to buildings. The area, known for its street market, has a large Bangladeshi community.

The explosion happened at teatime, exactly a week after a nail bomb injured 39 people in Brixton, South London. Four extremist racist groups have claimed responsibility for the Brixton blast.
