Two people may have lost their eyesight from injuries in yesterday's nail bomb explosion at Brixton in London. Thirty-nine people were injured in the bomb and there is still no indication about who carried out the attack. Police have ruled out an Irish connection and said that there was no evidence to link it to NATO's bombing in the Balkans.

Forensic teams spent today sifting through the rubble. The bomb went off outside a supermarket and there was no warning. Among the injured was a two year old boy who had a nail removed from his scull. The device exploded in a crowded street outside the supermarket at about half past five in the afternoon. Commander Hugh Orde told journalists that Scotland Yard was treating the bombing as a major incident.
