Gerry Adams, "deadlock remains"
Senior members of the Ulster Unionists are to meet in Belfast later today to discuss the draft document drawn up at the Hillsborough talks. Some Unionists have already criticised what they say is the document's failure to deal with the disposal of paramilitary arms.
The Sinn Féin President, Gerry Adams, told supporters in Belfast last night that the deadlock over decommissioning remained and that it would require a huge effort to break it. However, the Northern Secretary, Dr. Mo Mowlam, said that there was no going back.
