The extra Gardai were drafted in following the discovery of what's believed to be the murder scene and the recovery of a chain and locket which Siobhan had been wearing on the night.

The heart shaped locked and silver chain have now been sent to Dublin for forensic examination The Gardai are also awaiting the results of further post mortem tests being carried out by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy. They believe these will help them establish a motive for the murder.

Superintendent Jim Sugure who is heading the investigaition said their enquiries are making significant progress but so far there have been no arrests.

House to house enquiries are continuing and Gardai say they are working on building up a clearer picture of Siobhan's movements in Carraroe on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
