    Friday 19th December 
    The outstanding Russian soloist Alexei Ogrintchouk takes centre stage for Mozart’s Oboe Concerto – one of the most beautiful ever composed for the instrument – and Donizetti’s delightful Concertino, masterfully arranged by the orchestra’s former cor anglais player, Helmut Seeber.  This concert was first broadcast on 17th October this year.

    Paul Herriott presents the RTE National Symphony Orchestra live from the NCH, Dublin, in a concert recorded in celebration of St Patrick’s Day. Shaun Davey’s music drama, vividly depicts St Brendan’s journey from Ireland to the New World in a tiny leather boat. The powerful double bill also features the incomparable singing of Rita Connolly in ‘Granuaile’.
