    Leo Brouwer: February 23rd - March 1st

Guitarist Leo Brouwer has dedicated himself to the musical culture of his native Cuba all his life, pursuing the role of composer, educator and guitarist as well as activist in the Cuban Communist Party.  Celebrating his 75th birthday this week, on Blue we sample Brouwer’s extensive catalogue with his well known guitar compositions and arrangements along with his lesser known chamber works.

    Wolfgang Muthspiel: March 2nd - 8th

Wolfgang Muthspiel is the son of a choirmaster. He has studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and the Berklee College of Music. In the week the Austrian guitarist/composer celebrates his 50th birthday, we air nightly selections by an artist who works in both the classical and jazz arenas.
