    Bill Evans: August 11th - 17th

    Were he still with us, Bill Evans would have turned 85 on the 16th of August. A lyrical player who never paraded his technique, Evans first appeared on the radar after working with Charles Mingus and Miles Davis (that's Bill playing piano on most of the "Kind Of Blue" sessions). This week Eamonn features solo, duo and - especially - trio recordings made under the pianist's own name. We'll even hear Evans recorded with symphony orchestra and playing along to himself...
