    August 28. Tonight, we shall listen to a sample from the new CD by accordionist/composer Martin Tourish; a live recording of Witold Lutoslawski's concerto for piano and orchestra by the Berlin Philharmonic; another sneak preview of "For One To Love" by Cécile McLorin Salvant, on the day the singer turns 26; we'll hear the Savalls - Jordi, his wife Montserrat Figueras and their daughter Arianna; more from the pen of Tarik O'Regan (see BLUE TUNES, below);an "always hopeful" Shrikant Sriram; Sandy Denny (pictured), on the quiet joys of brotherhood; a funeral march and elegy - part of the third movement from Benjamin Godard's  first piano concerto; Sligo's No Crows performs Eddie Lee's "Dolmen Dance"; Mulligan and Getz play a ballad by Gerry; and there will also be a Shostakovich chamber symphony aired. 10pm...

    August 24th - 30th: Acallam na Senórach

    Acallam na Senórach is a setting by English composer Tarik O’Regan of a 12th Century text about the Fianna warriors Caílte mac Rónán and  Oisín, nephew of legendary Fionn Mac Cumhaill. O’Regan adapted the narrative into a one hour musical setting for solo guitar and chorus which was commissioned and recorded by Chamber Choir Ireland along with guitarist Stewart French. It’s under the Blue spotlight all this week.
