Václav Talich was music director of the Czech Philharmonic from 1919 to 1939 .His nephew, Jan Talich Snr, founded the Talich Quartet in 1964. Three decades later, his son, Jan Talich Jnr, took the first violin chair in the quartet. In this, its 50th anniversary, we feature a number of Talich releases, including recent recordings of works by Mendelssohn, Brahms and Kalliwoda.
