A Journey through Centuries of Beautiful Music celebrated its 4th birthday in the Sugar Club in Dublin recently. This week Blue features high quality music from that night.

    Eamonn talks to Daryl Runswick

Daryl Runswick is a classically trained composer, arranger, musician, producer and educationalist. He has worked with the London Sinfonietta, The King's Singers, John Cage and Ornette Coleman. He played bass and piano for 12 years with John Dankworth and Cleo Laine and was the Head of Music Composition at Trinity College of Music in London.

Tom Jobim Tribute: January 26th - February 1st

The cellist/arranger Jacques Morelenbaum and his singer/wife, Paula, were a big part of the life of Antonio Carlos Jobim (pictured), shaping the music of his last recordings. They paid a fitting tribute to “Tom” by recording an album in his Rio de Janeiro home studio - suitably titled "Casa".  We mark Tom Jobim’s birthday this week by shining the spotlight on this moving tribute with Ryucihi Sakamoto on piano and Jobim’s son Paulo on guitar.

    Bilingua: February 2nd - 8th

Last November, Gael Linn released "Bilingua" - a previously unreleased recording by the late Eithne Ní Uallacháin who tragically passed away in 1999. As a member of the trio Lá Lugh, Eithne forged new interpretations of Irish traditional singing. But with "Bilingua" she composed new material of her own - yet still deeply rooted in the tradition. It's under the Blue spotlight all this week.
