    The Dankworths: Sept  15th - 21st

This week, our common thread is an English jazz dynasty: the Dankworth family. Reed-player-cum-bandleader John Dankworth worked in film and TV (he wrote “The Avengers” and the “Tomorrow’s World” themes). Wife, Cleo Laine, often recorded with him. All this week, we’ll also hear from their children, Alec and Jacqui Dankworth.

    Anja Lechner/Francois Couturier - "Moderato cantabile": Sept  22nd - 28th

For many years, classically-trained cellist Anja Lechner and jazz pianist Francois Couturier collaborated in the Tarkovsky Quartet. This month, the pair released new arrangements of works by Federico Mompou, G.I. Gurdjieff and Komitas. Hear selections from “Moderato cantabile” each night this week.
