The Blue of the Night with Eamonn Lenihan
June 8 - 14. Parisian Anne Queffélec - the daughter and sister of writers - is passionate about literature. That said, Anne has, from an early age, devoted her own efforts to music. She was awarded first prize at the 1968 international piano competition in Munich, and at Leeds the following year. “The piano is,” she believes, “an orchestra in miniature.” Her latest Mirare release, “Satie & Compagnie” focuses on French composers of the early 20th century.
We’ll be airing selections from the CD all this week on BLUE. Expect to hear music by Ravel, Debussy, Hahn, Poulenc, Satie and others, nightly, from 10pm.
