    Ewan MacColl: January 19th - 25th

Ewan MacColl – born Jimmy Miller in Salford – was a singer, songwriter, broadcaster, record producer, collector of folk music, political activist, newspaper editor, playwright and actor. In the week of the centenary of his birth, we’ll listen to MacColl material interpreted by himself and others (including Christy Moore and the Unthanks).

Tom Jobim Tribute: January 26th - February 1st

The cellist/arranger Jacques Morelenbaum and his singer/wife, Paula, were a big part of the life of Antonio Carlos Jobim (pictured), shaping the music of his last recordings. They paid a fitting tribute to “Tom” by recording an album in his Rio de Janeiro home studio - suitably titled "Casa".  We mark Tom Jobim’s birthday this week by shining the spotlight on this moving tribute with Ryucihi Sakamoto on piano and Jobim’s son Paulo on guitar.
