    Sept 7th - 13th:Happy Birthday Arvo Pärt

    Arvo Pärt, Estonian composer turns 80 this week and on the Blue of The Night we honour the occasion by featuring his music nightly. The one time Sound Producer for Estonian Radio, is regarded as a pioneer of “Holy or Mystical Minimalism”. His study of Early music, plainsong and Gregorian Chant influenced much of his later compositions. Hear selections all this week – solo choral, orchestral and chamber.
