The Blue of the Night with Carl Corcoran Tuesday 20 August 2013

This Week on Blue....

Vocalist Christine Tobin's settings of poems by W.B. Yeats won her awards and critical acclaim. Her latest release, Pelt, features settings of poems and lyrics by Paul Muldoon.  Although a continuation of Tobin's alchemy with fine words and music and her exploration of the chemistry between the two, Pelt marks a new direction and a new musical landscape. Carl shares it all this week as his CD of the week.

The Blue of the Night with Carl Corcoran

In the week of the anniversary of George Enescu's birth, Carl and Eamonn will air some of the chamber music of this Romanian-born violinist, pianist, conductor and composer.

Something to smile about....

"There is An Island" is the latest Ergodos Musicians' project featuring songs by composers Garret Sholdice and Benedict Schlepper-Connolly and the pure voice of Michele O'Rourke. They joined Carl for a Blue Room Session in advance of their contribution to the Santa Rita Concert Series at the Little Museum of Dublin.
