Rachel Blech

Rachel Blech was born in London where she claims that, due to her family's fortunate circumstances, "Mozart put me through school", her father being the founder and conductor of the highly regarded London Mozart Players.

Rachel's first job was in a record shop selling jazz, classical and opera - a very useful training ground in retrospect!
She moved to Ireland in 1996 and has worked on music programming for community and commercial radio in the North West, has occasionally presented for BBC Radio Ulster and initially worked also as a community artist with young people and as an arts publicist.

In 2003 radio work took over when she was picked by RTÉ Radio 1 to present "The Blue Room" and soon other opportunities for music shows on RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ lyric fm began to emerge. Rachel has presented "The Mystery Train", "World Rhythms", "Musaic", "The Blue of the Night", "The JK Ensemble" and has also made feature music documentaries for RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ lyric fm.
