RTÉ Music Commissions

RTÉ has engaged with Irish and Irish-resident composers in the creation of a very significant volume of new music for performance by its orchestras and groups over several decades. Both the Performing Groups and lyric fm have been the prime drivers of this process of creating new music by and for Irish musicians. This site is now where commissioning opportunities from both areas of RTÉ will be shared and promoted.

RTÉ lyric fm / IMRO Mentored Composition Bursary Recipients Announced

RTÉ lyric fm in association with the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) are pleased to announce that Enda Bates and Seán Clancy are the recipients of the two bursaries €1000 each to write a new work for the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. Enda Bates is a composer, musician and producer based in Dublin, Ireland. Seán Clancy is a Dublin-born composer who is currently a PhD candidate (with Scholarship) at the Birmingham Conservatoire.

RTE Performing Groups Music Commissions

The RTÉ Performing Groups invites composers to apply to be considered for a music commission for the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet, RTÉ Philharmonic Choir or RTÉ Cór na nÓg. The deadline for applications has now passed.
