Lorcan Murray

Having left behind a career in the electronics industry, Lorcan opted for Radio and after an audition in late 1987, was offered a position with 2FM in March 1988 and hasn't looked back since.

Over the last number of years Lorcan has become
a household name through his presentation and music choice.
As well as hosting a range of programmes on 2FM and Radio 1, Lorcan has travelled the length and breadth of the country presenting the Beat on The Street and also hosted Miss Ireland for many years.

In 1999, Lorcan returned to his native Limerick to take up a position with RTÉ lyric fm.

'I've always had an interest in Classical Music. I played the piano from a very young age, I imagine it stemmed from there.'

As well as presenting Lorcan is an avid music collector and has one of the largest collections in Ireland, both on vinyl and CD.

'They're just everywhere now. Speaking of home, it's busy now with our family so finding time to listen to music is a little harder!'.

When it comes to sport for Lorcan, it's Munster all the way!!

'I really enjoy getting to the games when I can. Winning the Heineken cup in 2005 was fantastic but I'll never forget beating Toulouse in Bordeaux in 2000. C'mon the Claw. Limerick hurling is special and I still support Leeds United who will be back!'
