    Grammy-nominated mandolinist Avi Avital and accordionist Ksenija Sidorova are set to delight Irish audiences on tour from 22 - 27 April 2015. A diverse programme of folk, classical and contemporary music takes the instruments beyond their folk roots. Liz has a double B&B room at the five-star Merrion Hotel a pair of tickets to see Avi Avital & Ksenija Sidorova at City Assembly House, South William St, Dublin 2 on Sunday 26th April 2015.

    Recognised by The New York Times for his “exquisitely sensitive playing,” Avi Avital has captivated audiences across the globe with his playing.     Placido Domingo Competition

    World famous tenor Plácido Domingo will make his long awaited return to Ireland on the 31st May 2015 to perform in Dublin’s 3Arena for a very special concert. Liz has a pair of tickets to give away to the concert every day this week and on Friday, she will pick out an overall winner to receive VIP Tickets, an overnight and dinner for two in the Marker Hotel on May 31st.

    Eurovision for the Birds

    Birds have been singing. People have been listening. For thousands of years. Now we want you to record your favourite birdsong in Ireland and email  Classic Drive your MP3 (max 10MB) before Wednesday 6th May. 

    We'll then pick the best recordings and send them to the Eurovision Birdsong Contest. The basic condition for all entries is that they must be your self-made recording, your self-selected find, your self-defined confrontation with the phenomenon of bird calls and birdsong. On 23 May, the day of the Eurovision Song Contest, Radio Oe1 in Austria will present recordings of birds made by radio listeners all over Europe.

    The best contribution will win  a high-quality pair of binoculars worth €1000 provided by Swarovski Optik, So get listening and recording and send us your birdsong. Listen to our sample from West Cork, recorded last year.
