Ernest De Regge - The Man and Musician from Overmere
This is a story of rediscovery and his daughter Ghislaine's journey to preserve the memory of her Belgian father - the musician Ernest De Regge - documenting his life in Ennis, archiving his music and renewing connections with the people of his life and times there from his arrival in 1923 to his untimely death in 1958 in the Carmody Hotel disaster.

The Vatican in November 1903 published a papal encyclical 'Motu Proprio' under Pope Pius X on sacred music. It was against this backdrop that Bishop Fogarty appointed Ernest De Regge as Music Professor in St Flannan's College and organist/ choirmaster of Cathedral of SS and Paul in Ennis to provide a musical instruction and a grounding in Gregorian Chant in the Diocese of Killaloe.
