Ellen Cranitch

Ellen began her professional life as a flute player, working with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and many chamber ensembles. A niggling interest in improvised music wouldn't go away, and eventually led her away from classical music and into collaborations with some of the leading theatre and dance companies, Rough Magic, Coiscéim and the Abbey Theatre to name a few.

She has been presenting Grace Notes for the past six years, and thoroughly enjoys it as a way of keeping up to speed with the many wonderful happenings in the field of traditional music.

She's currently working on a film documentary about the great Martin Hayes.
