Composer in Residence

Linda Buckley is RTÉ lyric fm's Composer-in-Residence 2011/12 in association with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra. The Head of the Station, Aodán Ó Dubhghaill, has described her appointment as "an exciting initiative in the creation of new music for lyric. Linda's compositional talent doesn't so much span as ignore in a very informed way the boundaries between the live acoustic sound of an orchestra and electronics."

Post-Primary Teachers Composition & Creativity Workshop

Thanks to all of the teachers who came along to the workshops in Cork and Dublin. We all enjoyed ourselves and, in particular, had a really stimulating converstation after the Dublin workshop about the Leaving Cert syllabus and music educaiton. Hiccup CD

Two of Elaine's pieces, Hiccup and Curoo Curoo have been included in a CD released on the RTÉ lyric fm label. The CD, which shares the title, Hiccup, also features works by David Fennessy, Gavin Bryars, Siobhán Cleary among other Irish composers. RTÉ lyric fm is giving away free copies.
