Composer in Residence

Linda Buckley is RTÉ lyric fm's Composer-in-Residence 2011/12 in association with the RTE National Symphony Orchestra. The Head of the Station, Aodán Ó Dubhghaill, has described her appointment as "an exciting initiative in the creation of new music for lyric. Linda's compositional talent doesn't so much span as ignore in a very informed way the boundaries between the live acoustic sound of an orchestra and electronics."

Waterford New Music Week Workshops
Monday 16th April

RTE lyric fm's composer in residence Linda Buckley will facilitate listening and vocal improvisation workshops at the start of Waterford New Music Week. Workshop places are free of charge but numbers are limited, so download your brochure from www.WIT.ie or www.garterlane.ie and book through the Garter Lane website.

Hiccup CD

Two of Elaine's pieces, Hiccup and Curoo Curoo have been included in a CD released on the RTÉ lyric fm label. The CD, which shares the title, Hiccup, also features works by David Fennessy, Gavin Bryars, Siobhán Cleary among other Irish composers. RTÉ lyric fm is giving away free copies.
