Classical Kids

Fauré wrote a suite for a girl named Dolly and included movements such as 'Kitty-Valse' written for a dog. We'll hear it on Sunday plus a song of wrong notes by Leonard Bernstein.

Sunday July 23rd, 10am

Some composers loved their country so much that they used songs, tunes and dances from the place they were born in their music! This morning we'll hear a Mazurka by Chopin, a song by Vaughan Williams and a terrifying tale by Mussorgsky! We'll also hear music played on some percussion instruments!

Sunday July 30th, 10am

On today's Classical Kids we'll learn about the woodwind instruments including the clarinet and the flute. We'll also find out which of the great composers secretly practiced his music while the rest of his family was asleep in bed, and hear ballet music written for a sleeping princess and dancing knights!
