Unwrap your Christmas presents to the stories of The Snowman and Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, plus carols by schools who entered the 2013 Choirs for Christmas competition.

    Sunday July 27th
When Elgar was a boy, he put on a play with his brothers and sisters and wrote music to accompany it! Thirty years later he arranged the music and called it his 'Wand of Youth' Suite and we'll hear it on Sunday morning. We'll also hear music by Handel and Orff, used in some of our favourite television programmes.

    Sunday August 3rd
On Sunday we'll hear Spanish music composed by three French composers - the Symphanie Espangole by Lalo, Espana by Chabrier and part of the Carmen Suite by Bizet. We'll also hear music by a composer who had to teach himself the violin, because he was better than all his teachers!
