Classical Kids

Unwrap your Christmas presents to the stories of The Snowman and Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, plus carols by schools who entered the 2013 Choirs for Christmas competition.

Sunday July 30th, 10am

On today's Classical Kids we'll learn about the woodwind instruments including the clarinet and the flute. We'll also find out which of the great composers secretly practiced his music while the rest of his family was asleep in bed, and hear ballet music written for a sleeping princess and dancing knights!

Sunday August 6th, 10am

This morning we'll hear two stories by the author Margaret Wise Brown. First the story of a bunny rabbit who wants to say goodnight to everything around him before he falls asleep, Goodnight Moon, but it's sung here instead of read. We'll also hear music written about some wonderful wizards including Harry Potter and we'll meet the instruments of the brass family.
