Unwrap your Christmas presents to the stories of The Snowman and Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, plus carols by schools who entered the 2013 Choirs for Christmas competition.

    Sunday August 3rd
On Sunday we'll hear Spanish music composed by three French composers - the Symphanie Espangole by Lalo, Espana by Chabrier and part of the Carmen Suite by Bizet. We'll also hear music by a composer who had to teach himself the violin, because he was better than all his teachers!

    Sunday August 10th
Mozart and Haydn were great friends. Haydn called Mozart 'the greatest composer known to me' and Mozart wrote a whole series of String Quartets, which he dedicated to Haydn. Ian McGlynn will feature part of those quartets on Sunday including The Hunt, and we'll hear two fugues - one by Bach and the other by Lady Gaga!
