We celebrate Winter with Vivaldi's Four Seasons today, and we'll hear music written for Scheherazade's The Tales of the Arabian Nights by Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel.

    Sunday August 24th
Gabriel Fauré wrote a suite for a girl named Dolly, and the movements have fun names such as ‘Mi-a-ou’ (the name Dolly called her brother Raoul) and the ‘Kitty-Valse’ (written for the family dog). We’ll hear it on Sunday, plus music by the American composer Leonard Bernstein including toe-tapping dances and a song made up of wrong notes!

    Sunday August 31st
We'll take an un-seasonal listen to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker on Sunday, including the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Dance of the Reed Flutes. We'll also enjoy to music performed by an orchestra of brass instruments, string instruments and a ukulele orchestra!
