Classical Kids

Music for three princesses this morning - one with very long hair, one who loved to sleep and one who travelled about in a pumpkin! Plus the story of The Little Fiddle!

Saturday March 25th, 7am (repeat)

Classical Kids will continue the St. Patrick's celebrations this weekend with The Children of Lir told by Hamilton Harty, the story of King Lir and his children who get turned into swans. We'll also hear about the Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan, RTÉ Cór na nÓg will sing us some songs and we'll perform Riverdance! I wonder if we'll be as good as the sheep below?

Sunday March 26th, 10am

We'll travel around the world with postcards from The King's Singers and to celebrate Mother's Day, we'll hear the story of The Runaway Bunny, about a little bunny rabbit who decides to run away. But his wise Mum tells him, 'If you run away, I will run after you.' With music by Glen Roven, the story is read by Brooke Shields. And with the Feis Ceoil starting this week in Dublin, we'll hear performances by some of the many great winners over the years, including John O'Conor, Cara O'Sullivan and Finghin Collins.
