Sunday October 18th
Once upon a time there was a brave princess named Eliza whose brothers were turned into swans by a wicked witch. It's up to Eliza to save them by knitting shirts from stinging nettles, and we'll hear wonderful music written for the Hans Christian story by the composer Elena Kats-Chernin. We’ll also meet the ‘father of Russian music’, Mikhail Glinka.
Sunday October 25th
To celebrate the mid-term break, we'll hear about the adventures of Ratty, Toad and Mole in Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows with music by John Rutter. We'll also visit a magic toyshop with Rossini's Boutique Fantasque, and we'll hear part of a symphony by Beethoven which describes a lovely walk in the countryside.
