Classical Kids

We'll have fun with our favourite toys this morning, plus the story of The Wind in the Willows, with beautiful music by the English composer John Rutter.

Sunday May 28th, 10am

Schubert’s father was a teacher and wanted young Franz to teach too, but the young composer was more interested in writing music than teaching! However he did write his first symphony for his school orchestra, and we’ll hear it on this week’s Classical Kids. We'll also hear the story of The Firebird with music by Stravinsky,

Sunday June 4th, 10am

We have an exciting new recording on today's Classical Kids, written for one of our favourite stories - Little Red Riding Hood. This is a fun new version of the story, with music by Tom Smail and the story read by Harry Enfield. We'll also go the ballet with beautiful music by Tchaikovsky, written for a swan and a very tired princess.
