Music by Mozart this morning, and we’ll hear a song by a birdcatcher and part of a horn concerto that he wrote for the owner of a cheese shop! We’ll also hear a somewhat unusual version of Peter and the Wolf...

    Sunday September 7th
Schubert’s father was a teacher and wanted young Franz to teach too, but the young composer was more interested in writing music! However he did write his first symphony for his school orchestra, and we’ll hear it on this week’s Classical Kids. We’ll also hear music written for dancing hours and minutes, in Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours.

    Sunday September 14th
We've got the best, worst music on this week's Classical Kids - a march by Charles Ives written for a very under-rehearsed orchestra and arias sung by a soprano, notorious for her bad singing! We'll also listen to Beethoven's Eroica Symphony, a very important work which started the Romantic Period in music.
