Congratulations to the winners of the first annual Waltons Music for Schools Competition!

Well done to all of the twelve great performing groups that travelled from the four corners of Ireland to perform in the Finalists Concert at the National Concert Hall on 16 April 2012, and warm congratulations to the winning schools! Primary and post-primary schools competed in their categories for First Prize of a trophy and Waltons Music voucher to the value of €3,000, Second Prize of a trophy and Waltons Music voucher to the value of €1,500 and Third Prize of a trophy and Waltons Music voucher to the value of €500.

In the Primary Schools category, First Prize went to the Holy Family Chamber Choir of the Holy Family Senior Primary School, Ennis, Co. Clare; Second Prize went to the Cnoc An Éin ensemble of Knockanean National School, Co. Clare; and Third Prize went to the Killbrittain Musical Group of Kilbrittain National School, Co. Cork.

In the Post-Primary Schools category, First Prize went to Our Lady's College Choir of Our Lady's College, Drogheda, Co. Louth; Second Prize went to the OLSS Performing Arts Group of Our Lady's Secondary School, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan; and Third Prize went to the John Scottus Senior Choir & Ensemble of John Scottus Secondary School, Dublin 4.
